TV DEBUT

I've been interviewing veterans
For the Veterans History Project, so
I was quite excited when I got a call to go
And interview a veteran on tv;
I was just as pleased as punch
And told my friends and family!
The great night finally arrived
And I found out it wasn't "live";
They wanted to check and edit some,
They'd air it soon as they were done!
The interview went right along,
In just an hour it was complete,
They said "ya wanna watch it?"
And I thought that was neat!
The veteran looked spiffy
All dressed up with suit and tie;
I looked like my grandmother,
And I had to wonder why!
I don't feel a bit older than I did at 25;
Yet when I saw the tape! How can I survive?!
Beauty sleep is what I need,
And I'm gonna get me some!
So leave me go and fix my face,
I think the time has come..
