White Petal
By Quizmo LaGrande First petal fell. Released from life grown As perfect rose, Innocent of thorn. White petal lays Gentle, curled, Fragrant, soft. As your kiss Of pollen in my soul On a rich mahogany of sound, Love’s grand gift to me. Song of life, blameless found. Quiet, still, lone first petal lays Waiting for all fall silent and pray Whilst linger sweet dying, Soon wither and fray Bravely undoing, Polite flowers’ bouquet. No complaint or whine, No tear, or faint moan, Only gracious, drooped shoulders, Courtly cologne. Acceptance that full as white bloom was one Beauty that blazed Pale with pink where the sun Blessed both rose and sky And wisely agreed Upon seasons and why First petal fell free First petal fell, White petal sighed Anguished and mourning Your whisper… Good bye.
