For a while I thought he was in love with me,
And then the whole world was magic. His eyes were magic - They would swallow my soul up And leave me breathless, Shivering from joy and wishing He'd never tear his glance away. His lips were magic portals Into a world of tender longing, And I used to dream about touching them, And how soft they would press against my own. His touch did something magic, Something that cannot be replicated By anything ordinary - Which is, of course, what magic is. It melted me into jelly, Made me weak and lifeless, Made me alive only where he touched me. His touches burn me yet, His eyes still haunt my every glance, And I still dream sweet dreams of unkissed lips That now can never be mine. For a while I thought he was in love with me, And then the whole world was magic. But the other part of magic is that it ends, And makes itself more special by Replacing itself with the ordinary And tearing away the foolish hope That it might go on ten seconds more.
