My Daddy killed a child tonight
But did not take a life The child gave in without a fight To words used as a knife. He came into her room at night And sat beside her bed “I’m just your Daddy, it’s alright-” The lies my Daddy said. The man who held the child’s trust Had killed her with a touch And all to satisfy his lust The child he loved so much My Daddy killed the child in me My shameful secret kept My innocence is dead you see And I, a woman, wept.
