Philosophy of Death...
Note: This poem was written for "Stormy's Newsletter and Contest."

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
D E A T H
Some say that death
is the loss of being,
and maybe that is so.
But I think death
is the absence of all
we've come to know.
Death is when
our heart has forgotten,
when we no longer recall
the embrace of a lover,
tears of happiness,
storms passing into delight.
Death is losing that endless cycle,
but I think, it should carry
only passing sorrow.
For death is the embrace
of a new beginning,
a step through secret doorways
into existence elsewhere.
And once we stop recalling,
the loves and memories of old,
it is the start of a contented life
lived in a different house,
on a different plane.
