IF LIFE WAS FAIR The quote: "If life was fair, Elvis would be alive and all the impersonators would be dead." - Johnny Carson If life was fair, as it should be, Elvis would still sing to me; I'd listen to that southern drawl Because he was the best of all! I wouldn't have to see the guys Living in the past, telling lies Of how they could impersonate The King; I know they're fake! Elvis wouldn't jump from a plane, He was great and not insane! He sang of love and made his mark; He sang of light, and did embark On a career that lifted him to fame; He has gone and will not come again. Let him rest, for he left behind All that music in our mind. Countrymom 2/24/03
