LOVE OR SOMETHING LIKE THAT I turned fifteen with a gleam in my eye, I was growing up fast, didn't know why All the fuss was made about going out Or "be home by ten!" I heard them shout! Restrictions, admonitions I heard each day; It was hard to believe my folks were that way! I knew better than drink, and I wouldn't try Any bad stuff that just happened by. I had my dreams, and soon fell in love; They said it's puppy love, all hand in glove With growing up, it was part of the plan, I just kept trying to be what I am. I studied hard, my grades were real good; I did as I was told, just as I should - And the time went by, soon I was grown; Ready to make it out on my own. I grew up fine and I've my folks to thank; Earned lots of money to put in the bank; Looking back now, as I happily sat, It had to be love, or something like that! Countrymom 3/2/03
