There once was a donkey named Mel
For many years he could not smell But one day did notice A beautiful crocus Growing alone near the dell. There once was a goose named Ali’ Unfortunate she could not see But one day her woes Arose through her nose As hyacinths scented sweetly. Soon after, becoming best friends The goose and the donkey did lend Through shared smell and sight Their gifts of delight As flowers so soothingly send.
