Good Family Man

"Good Family Man"

V1:
What are the makings of a good family man
Must he always show and do the best he can
Should he never gamble cheat or tell a lie
Face his burdens and never take time to cry

V2:
Even though it is a struggle from day to day
To feed and raise his big family with little pay
As a child I was naive and did'nt understand
How all my friends had riches in their hands

Chorus:
When I feel burdened I think of my dear Dad
How he worked everyday but so little he had
For work before dawn come home after dusk
He never complained any of how tired it was
He had ten children four girls and six boys
Yet he never complained about all the noise
Dad set a good example for his kids to see
He left no doubt of what he wanted of me

V3:
As my memories go back I can finally see
Even with all his burdens he stood like a tree
Are these the makings of a good family man
If so here lies my Dad truly a good family man
