What Started It All?
This is a story of long ago. The King offers his daughter To the richest in the land Who would have her hand to wed. But the princess’ lover Bands together his loyal followers To fearlessly fight And rescue the damsel instead. So Knights and Lords, The brave of heart At the King’s command, Engage in war. They fight to the death With terror and destruction everywhere. As the innocent fall and the mighty gain control The reason for it all falls to the wall. The princess has fled Into the arms of another Yet the battles continue on For what seems forever. Sadly, the essence of it all Is forever lost With the same old question, What started it all?
