I have what has long been considered a joke answer to this question; the only problem is that I take the answer a little more seriously than people realize. On one level, I suppose it is ridiculous, but on another it is just this bizarre idea that I ponder sometimes.
It came from noticing people who didn’t drink enough water and how often they seem to suffer from hay fever and colds. In fact, I was having problems with hay fever and I increased my water intake and I haven’t had problems since. I’ve had very few colds too.
Sometime when I guess my brain was operating in overdrive, I also thought about how the human body is about 90% water. (Those of you out there who actually know the definite percentage, I apologize. I just know it is high.) After wondering why people who drink soda all day don’t bleed sticky stuff, I traveled to the notion that tourists are always cautioned not to drink the water in other countries. In fact, I heard about a bunch of American tourists in Turkey who got sick just by brushing their teeth using the tap water. Now in my simplified brain, this has nothing to do with filtering or fluoride or any additives and, in fact, the very countries whose water other countries are warned about wouldn’t get along with that countries “superior” water any better.
Even our water supplies don’t get along.
So I came up with the “Harmonious Water Theory.” If we only could get “one world water,” water that anyone anywhere in the world could drink with no ill effect, maybe we wouldn’t fight.
Completely nuts.
But have you ever noticed when you eat a bunch of junk – candy, soda, meat, whatever – how you just feel sick and eventually your body craves some water and vegetables?
Maybe if we could all drink the same water, we’d at least be on the same page.
I know.
Nuts.
