Drama is a valuable means of experiencing life. Drama is related to the events we face daily, and because of that, we are able to explore various responses and behaviors without having to deal with the physical consequences. Terminal illness, childbirth, war, and murder are investigated and exposed in literature. By entering into these experiences vicariously we are able to learn about ourselves and our world.
Reading or writing dramatic stories is an aid to maturing as a person. Learning to see other viewpoints and appreciate other cultures, to identify with another person through a story, is healthy and safe. Write on!
