There stood at her window, in ribbons and lace, A sweet little girl with a sad little face. She gazed at the stars, Twinkling bright in the sky. In a soft whisper, She asked with a sigh. “Stars in the sky, I need to know, Why did my mommy have to go? She left one day without saying good-bye, I heard daddy say she was going to die. I miss my mommy, and her warm embrace, I miss the smile on her pretty face.” As she spoke to the stars, one twinkled brighter, She could feel a presence standing beside her. In the still of night, she could clearly hear, Her mommy whisper, “I’ll always be near.”
