Mother's Tears
Castles, wooden ships. Tragic days of war and death.

A castle
Sat upon a cliff in ruins.
Days past
Many battles won.

Across blue waters
One horizon before it.
Ships of majesty
In sight
Sails lofting
War began.

Wars
They have fought.
These mighty warriors
Sails now full
Guns blaring with fire.

At a distance
Appearing
As legendary dragons.
While sharks gather
To tear into the dead
And living.

Still
The castle she lays.
Men inside
Vigilant watch.
Protecting their homeland
Wives, plus the young.

Time for peace
They had
Now gone.
To fight mans war
Winning nothing.

Losing
Both do.
Graveyards full
Coffins are all that's gained.

Fathers
Brothers
Teenage sons
Leaving a Mother to grieve.

The loss she has
Is greatest
Of all.
