how a certain "friendship" or lack there of made me feel...

How much does it cost
to find a friend I won't lose?
what is the price to pay
just so I can have them say?

How strong do I have to be
to hold them tight, so they don't leave?
What is so wrong with me
that I can't keep a friend forever?

My life slips by me
like a train on its tracks
Friends fall out of it
like apples from a branch

No one to turn to
when I need them most
No shoulder to lean on
when I feel I can't do it on my own

It's all right, I've done it before
relied on myself to get things done
It'll be me to show how much I've won
even if the group I have has a member of one
