He loves me, see? This is my promise ring!! Into my skeptical face she thrusts the gold-plated ring that will soon turn her finger green with the cubic zirconium stones begging me without words … see? SEE? SEE? Don’t you see what I see? I rein in my snort of derision at the cheap bauble, yet another reminder of his trifling “love” begging her without words … see? SEE? SEE? Don’t you see what I see?
