THE WALTZ Music drifted over the night air As we settled on one slow dance; To mark the last of our nights together, The end of a sweet summer romance. Too soon the end of a perfect love, Slow to admit the end so near; You held me close one last time, The dance, a waltz, so clear. I shall remember the waltz as I Go back to the one I wed; Forgetting all but the slow dance And the night that goodbyes were said.
