“Object of My Affection”

Thoughts linger endlessly in my head
You captivate me just the same,
Without you life is empty; seems to be dead
The world looks bleak, for love is but a foolish game.

You are the sunshine in the clouds of rain,
The warm breeze that pushes me to see the light
And oh, could this beautiful radiance remain
Like the gentleness of a blue moon night.

Seeing you there brings a smile to my face
You’re a precious gem to behold
When you are near, I fall into a daze
Moments we’ve spent are like treasured gold.

And so I pray that you’ll be stronger tomorrow,
Hoping someday, somehow you’ll take notice
I’ll be with you in both joy and sorrow;
And I’ll think about you in eternal bliss.
