Daggers of lightning stabbing a bruised night sky
Cries of thunder screaming in pain Bullets of rain spraying the defenseless landscape Waves of wind crashing through the treetops I at my window peering out into the madness A torrent of air rumbling over my roof Water leaping down from the sky to pummel my house My ears are assaulted with the booming thunder The world outside flashes into focus sporadically I at my window peering out into the madness The house shudders lightly in the pounding wind Then a brilliant flash makes it daytime A sharp crack splinters the air The corpse of a tree falls unheeded I at my window peering out into the madness Slowly the storm crawls off to the east Grumbles of thunder like parting words The dying breeze drifts away Remnants of rain spatter from the leaves I at my front door turning the knob
