LAKE SHADOWS First stars of the evening Reflected in a lake so crystal clear; For a moment I feel peace As if God, Himself, were here. Shadows on the waters As clouds pass overhead, Evening stars now hidden; Darkness covers all instead. Lake shadows cast a spell That will almost make you feel As if you're alone in the universe; For the moment, it is real. With the dawning of a new day, The lake once more will shine With a million little crystal stars And peace again is mine.
