Life is short on the grand scale,
just a tick on the spectrum of eternity. People's faces come and fade on waves of an ebbing tide. Even things that we see as everlasting: water evaporates, earth erodes, emotions change in the blink of an eye. Though we have words such as Permanent, Eternal, Forever, can anything really stand the test of time?
