Parallel Lives
There are two lives I live each day One people see the other I hide away Deep inside, locked with a key I give no one that part of me. I am encased in smiles and laughter Yet I know that they are after To touch more than I am willing, to share My flesh rather than my soul to bare. And one day when I am gone from earth These lives will conjoin and a rebirth Of my spirit will rise like the tide upon the shore To give me strength, make me whole once more.
