Cardinals chirp discordant love songs from the bowels of rotting trees - jackhammers dig-up all my wrongs, the taxman calls to you and me. the taxman, yeah, I'm the taxman I can hear the worms of sadness tunnelling to my very core - I can taste the edge of madness knocking at the outhouse door. the taxman, yeah, I'm the taxman What's the sense of making sense, for in the breeze I hear my name. I long to leap this cosmic fence I yearn for fortune, mimes, and fame. the taxman, yeah, I'm the taxman Oh, I shall marry - break like the wind, to heal the shackles of my heart.
