STANDING ALONE

There is courage in his eyes
And a smile upon his lips;
His reaches up and touches
Me with his fingertips.

He tells me not to worry,
That he will be just fine

"I'm not afraid of fading
;
I'll be back in no time".

I stand alone, waiting
For him to come back to me;
The war is almost over,
He's helped keep us free.

With open arms I'm waiting
For him to come back home;
He will find me waiting
For
I stand alone.

With courage in my eyes,
And a smile upon my lips;
I'll reach up and touch
His face with my fingertips

For peace and liberty
I stand alone;
I'm not afraid of fading
,
I'll welcome him back home.

Standing alone, with memories
Of a love so strong and true;
Our love will never fade away
And dreams can start anew.
