This poem is about my little girl, Shadow.

Soft, warm licks wake me
A furry nudge is a familiar touch
These gentle gestures belong to
A little girl I love very much

She has been my constant companion
And a loyal friend
Giving me comfort and support
Which I hope will never end

She seems to know my every need
And worries when I leave her sight
She paces like a worried parent
But greets my return with delight

Her name is Shadow
And has proven that to be true
She is always close to me
She knows what to do
