TWO A.M.

Almost two a.m. - I need to sleep
(My beauty is SO hard to keep!)
Another contest was such fun -
I had to choose who had won!

I read all the entries, once or twice;
Some were great - all were nice!
A lot of work, a lot of pride
Our countrys' Honor, felt inside.

I love to read, and love to write
That's the reason I'm up at night;
Cause somewhere it's the start of day,
And darkness somewhere, so they say.

I often picture other writers,
Gifted, clever and all-nighters;
Pouring our their heart and soul,
Gifting them has been my goal.

I'm not an angel, but I try
To win the hearts of those passing by;
With a catchy little bit of verse
Sometimes bad, sometimes worse.

Yet if stars fill my two a.m. sky
I'll know it's YOU who stopped by;
And I will go to sleep and dream
Of being a pretty good poetry Queen

Now I will toddle off to bed,
Find a spot, lay down my head;
And tomorrow morning I must rise
Seeing the world with bloodshot eyes.

Some things just cannot keep,
I need to make you laugh or weep!
A hobby of sorts, this writing game;
But I have never been the same.

I started out at Stories.com,
Then Writing.com came along;
And I will stay long as I can
You gotta know - that's my plan!
