~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Spring Became Winter Once I thought he was the green of the woods, And the buds and the grass were his heart. I believed his soul was the sunshine of sky, And clouds passed through his eyes. The velvet rose, with tinges of orange Used to be jealous of his intricate mind. The rippling water of creek bed sighed When his tongue played melody with words. Then the skies darkened; clouds grew gray. The thunder of tears ripped through my life. The green-budded promise eroded away, And proud nature was jealous no more. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
