I wonder why...

Heard some news today
from a good friend
about you and someone
I suspected you to be dating
for quite some time now;
my waiting's come to an end.

Now I'm stuck
with a question
that nobody seems to answer
and no one knows what to make of
your behavior, full of mind boggling
gaps and contradictions.

I'd only asked something
to which you could say yes or no,
but you brushed me off,
saying you couldn't answer me
when I was brave enough to decide
to confirm with you what I now know.

No pain comes
from your new relationship.
What stings is why you feel
you can't answer me forthright,
when I try to be friendly,
but I end up provoking a hardship.

But now you've
moved on so quickly,
yet you leave us in question
of your motives for this;
I know you don't really love her
and you're not thinking clearly.

I suppose I could
let it all drop,
a foolish thing to do since
you helped me through so much and I want to
pay you back, but you seem
to want to let our past be dropped.
