What we Seek
A poem about finding acceptance

You call me a freak.
That's just fine.
For what I seek,
I'll soon find.

Acceptance for one,
may take some time.
But I'm having fun
with some friends of mine.

They accept me for me,
that's all I require.
Can't you see
my friends aren't for hire?

They support me,
not you or Lyle.
That's the key
to my smile.

They won't join you.
They're loyal to me.
But if they leave,
sad I won't be.

Someday you will find,
friends just like mine.
Then you'll see-
It's all in your mind,
what you seek to find.
