The First Flight When a bird is set free from his cage He at first flits in panic Looking for something to cling to. Disbelief shadows his wings of freedom. The new world Is too brilliant, The sun too bright Until the bird sees the branch Appearing in the blinding light. He flies to his security But not for long - For there is a whole new world to explore.
