Lost
A poem about my first love. It doesn't have a happy ending.

LOST

I never fathomed what people meant by the word, Love.
Until my dark brown eyes looked upon yours.
Falling into you, I lost myself.
Spinning out of control,
Seeing the world through new eyes.
Touching you sends the fire of passion loose,
Your voice stimulating places others could not touch.

Holding on to each other, our souls entwined,
We face the world with our innocent love.
They tear at us with claws of jealousy,
Shredding the passion we hold.
Destroying love just found.

Our Souls cry out in horror,
As the dark abyss rises up to swallow us.
Pulling us down, until our love suffocates and dies.

Once again I stand alone,
Cold,
Undesired.
Tears burn me, as I walk alone.
Seeing only darkness and suffering.
Never to love again,
For I am still,
Lost within you.
