A Parent's Daily Creed
A mother's plea to get that child out of bed

Just a few trite, but true words. I could hear my mom saying something like this to my brothers. As a parent, I recall sprinkling cold water on my own child to get him out of bed.

A PARENT'S DAILY CREED

For goodness sakes, child
Get up out of bed
You sleepy head,
Get up from there
And go on outside.

Feel the warmth in your hair
Have fun in the Sun.
Smell the flowers that are near.
Mother nature is awake.
Listen to the sounds that she makes.

Do not waste time
Just lying around.
Time quickly passes by.
Soon shadows of night will appear
Ending this sweet day.

So for goodness sakes, child,
Get up out of bed,
You sleepy head
Get up from there
And enjoy this day instead.
