Another Face in the Crowd

Author's Note: This poem was written with the intent of it being presented. So many of the parts of it might not look quite organized on paper but if it is read properly, it should flow nicely.



I...want to be noticed
as the lily among the thorns
I want to break out
and bring a smile to those who are forlorn.

I want to be responsible for chaos
for "starting a commotion"
My name should be heard
and known for drawing some attention.

I want to be bold print on the screen
not just some subtitle
scratch that - I want to be the star
for I will not sit here and be idle.

I don't want to stand on a chair
to say my opinion out loud
for you should know
that I'm not just another face in the crowd.

I want to be seen
As a friend, comrade, and good person
I want to spout out jokes
Laugh and just have some fun!

I want to be so noticed that when I'm gone
...you'll wonder when I'll be back
because you'll find that my words and ideas
aren't something that you want to lack.

Give me a chance
let me break through
...I'll show you what I am,
what I can do.

Just open your eyes
take a look at ME!
Because I am here to be noticed
...as you can see.
