THE LITTLE THINGS IN LIFE

The fragrance of the lilacs
in the early days of Spring,
I shall remember all my days
Though it is just a little thing.

Wild violets and daisies
growing all about the field,
Another little pleasure
that Heaven paused to yield.

It is the little things in life
that make it all worthwhile,
That brings to every single day
a wistful little smile.

I shall cherish every blossom,
and the fragrance of it all;
Yes, I will remember the little things
as Spring turns to Summer, then to Fall.
