China Doll She waits, In semi - comfortable position, Waiting For someone else's decision. As she casts her eye upon her scene She focuses on something Once unseen. Noises of laughter From beyond the window come What can it be Strains against herself to reach the sun. Doesn’t see the edge of chair Nor the peril Laying in wait, there. In a moment Or was it two Suddenly Her foot slips through. Where once she was pretty, Now, She lies Broken on the floor As the laughter fades Beyond the living room door.
