UNDERSTANDING WOMEN

I was fond of dictionary,
When I was a young nerd.
I thought knowing the world was
Like looking up a word.

When I grew up a bit more,
I found the world is rough;
Answers to simple questions
Are really too tough.

As a lad in senior school,
Member of soccer team,
Playing like Pele was my
One and the only dream.

With that dream I told the coach,
“I’ll discover one day,
All the secrets of football.”
The coach had this to say:

“I wish you good luck my son,
But I tell you one thing.
To me a life time of play
Could not perfection bring.”

I tried hard and did become
Champion of my state.
I knew, though not perfectly,
Secrets of soccer great.

But secrets of woman’s mind,
Mere man can never learn.
What her gestures truly mean,
He can never discern.

When in university,
I had crush on a girl.
I gave her a kiss and lo!
Tears did from her eyes swirl.

I was truly baffled and
I kissed and caressed her,
Why she cried in my arms, I
Could never decipher.

I thought with experience,
I’ll learn why women cry.
But I remain ignorant.
Forever did I try.

Why do women cry and smile?
Or, mean by 'yes' and 'no'?
I must admit, till today,
The answers I don’t know.

Why try when destined to fail?
It’s much wiser for man:
Don’t try to understand her,
Simply love your woman.
