DEPARTING TEARS
Love that did not lead to the altar.

DEPARTING TEARS

As we depart never to meet,
I can’t hold back tears in my eyes.
It is true that I’m sad today.
My pain of heart I can’t disguise.

Our hearts did beat in unison,
Our love was true, sincere and deep.
We have not been successful but
Our solemn word we tried to keep.

We have had problems in our love;
It could not come to fruition.
I do not know why always I
Had this sort of intuition.

No, I have nothing against you,
I know that you have truly loved.
It’s only by our destiny
That we have been rather ill served.

I know my tears will not go waste.
Our love will yet be unshaken.
We shall one day yet meet again,
In our next life, in the heaven.
