Serial Adulterer
Worse than lying to those who touch your life is lying to yourself...

Serial adulterer

Never this one,
always the next.
Impetuous decisions,
hastily formed;
Unwise.
Consequently
always losing out,
relinquishing love
when placed at my feet.
Is there something
even better
out there for me?
Time after time
The Reliant One
pledges forgiveness
while I
swear at my transformation.

Redemption came
in the form
of what
I always sought.
Her, too,
I now forsake.
Prolonging
the inevitable,
my eventual demise:
Never alone
but lonely.
By no means unloved
But not loving.
Upholding my vows,
of sorts,
declaring loyalty
however misplaced
and in the process
breaking my spirit.
