When I look into his eyes
I see a reflection of self-disguise Unmindful the illusion existed Captive in a mirror, contorted and twisted Sustained by the reflection I see In a world reversed I cannot flee Bookends separated and volumes apart Both halves together make but one heart The force that drives perpetual motion Steers me far from love's devotion Beguiled and held captive pray Trapped inside unfulfilled days Hourglass chambers grant subdivision Of time sands gone without precognition Diction amends slang Yin supports Yang White - Black Silver - Gold Opposites attract - But can they hold Finding one's soul makes you complete Without its mate, love fades bittersweet Elusive love, lost and berated Tarnished by a mirror, cracked and faded Admission transposes acknowledged fears Hope springs eternal through undried tears A mere reflection cannot contain A soul sculpted by any ordinary man Grateful to God, Sculptor of my clay In preparation for a finer day
