Appreciate Your Elephant
Quizmo LaGrande Elephants are friendly folk, Just cumbersome and shy. I’m sure they don’t appreciate Having constantly to hide. Trying to conceal one, In the bathtub or the fridge, Is as useful as demanding That your children not be kids! There’s a lion in the parlor, As proud as proud can be That everybody notice What a pompous beast is he. Take a peek into the bedroom; I promise you will see Nothing but a bed and chest, Mirage—peaceful bedroom scene. Yet underneath the mattress You may notice something plump; You would never, ever guess It’s an elephant’s large rump! In the kitchen lives the monkey Who chatters, swings, and vows On the internet each evening Having ‘cyber-monkey’ cows About having to be living With both lion and ghost ‘derm. One who needs you notice, One who thinks he goes unheard. Please appreciate your pachyderm, Allow them to roam free. I know they are quite timid So much coaxing they will need. Invite him out to dinner, They adore a candled dine. I’m sure he’ll loosen up a bit With a glass of cherried wine. Yes, elephants are truly fun; Their love will fill the place, Simply tempt and lure them with That smile upon your face!
