FORGIVE ME DEAR HUSBAND
Forgive me my dear husband, For, today I walk on you; But before final goodbye, I owe this much to tell you: How much I have loved you these, Ten years that we were married; How much I have sacrificed, How much pain I have carried For bringing you happiness, For making this house, a home, For weaning you away from Your alcoholic syndrome. But I am sorry to say, It looks as if I have failed; You are not happy with me, With drinking you have prevailed. You seem to be unhappy With my fading facial charm; You no longer hesitate To cause me physical harm. That, too, I could tolerate, But, not your too devious ways; Philandering without remorse, Far away from my embrace! Forgive me dear husband if, You are enraged by my act. But, then, why should this matter, When I am useless in fact! * Written in abcb 7-7-7-7 format. M C Gupta 27 July 2003
