Not Love Alone
What can keep ones love for a spouse going even through trials?

Two souls traveling down Life's Road,
By marriage united in God's great Plan.
A woman, forsaking all others in life,
One with her husband in the eyes of man.

Love brings a lonely soul to life
And shows to us our heart's desire.
But more than love must keep the heart
And fan the spark of love's deep fire.

For love alone is not enough
To warm the soul throughout the years,
Nor heal the open, festered wound
Or stem the flow of painful tears.

For in this vale of sin and woe
Love is strengthened by Another.
One, we're told in Holy Word,
That's closer than a brother.

Two souls traveling down Life's Road,
United with God in mind and heart.
Trusting in Him to fill their lives
With holy love in every part.
