Cattle Trails
Standing in a field I noticed the cattle trails That cattle follow as they travel the hills and dells They have so much land why do they follow the same And walk upon the paths following the ancient lanes Habits order our lives like cows we walk common roads It’s much easier as we carry our daily loads But following others we can sell our future short And our destiny these habits can sometimes thwart But when we resist and travel the road that is new We find treasures that were hidden from our view
