English 101?!
Upon the desk before me rests, a sentence that needs attention, And Miss Cathleen lets out a scream, to declare her sole intention, That sentence of yours quickly inures, itself in need of declension, And as it goes it quickly grows, and you’ll end up in detention. She’s right I’m not very bright, when it comes to nouns and verbs, More times than not I say What, the rules seem so blurred; I muddle along life’s just a song, I’ve driven my teachers mad, And rules for verbs seem quite absurd, like when is it have or had. Is “i” before “e” after “c,” or could it be the other way around, I learned that rule while in school, but forgot to write it down; So now in spite though I try to do right, I seem an English cripple, And parts of speech hang in the breach, like a dangling participle. There are many more rules in store, than I have cells in my brain, My teachers say there’s no way, that boy will ever get on the train; But I’ve survived though not arrived, and working my way up the line, If I stay in class study and pass, I’ll make it if I don’t run out of time.
