My Grown Little Girl
A poem I had written a few years ago for my daughter.

My grown little girl
You are truely and deeply the apple of my eye,
The sweetness and freshness of the air around me,
The colors of my rainbow and the blue in my sky.

I've watched you grow from day to day,
The sun was warm with freshness,
as you entered my world in a month called May.

I've dried your tears and adored your smiles,
As we hugged and kissed, laughed and cried,
then held each other through years and miles.

So now that you've grown to a pretty young teen,
With your kindness and sweetness that's simply devine,
I've but to count down the days when you're dubbed someones queen.

So allow not a doubt in your heart my love for you,
As I watch my days that are readily commencing,
to when I have to spend them without greive, without you.
