CINDERELLA - NOT YOUR CUP OF TEA There she goes, my beauty perfect: Cinderella - the fairy tale darling ... Behold her silver skin shimmering Like the fish gliding upon the stream. Cherish her dreamy eyes, Luring you magnetically to her side, Hope to have her glance at you, you measly guy, There is nought but misery in your fate. She looked jaded a little while back, I swear, As she washed and scrubbed her sisters' things, But now she walks tall and purposeful, In control of all that she purveys. Wearing those glass sandals, she passes you by, Never even slipping once, the naughty wench ... So what are you cowering in the corner for, Go and speak to her now, by jove! Look in the faded mirror and reconcile, For the marks on your face say the truth - You are a ravaged man, I daresay, And not a Prince Charming anyway. She is glamorous and you, ugly, She is a vixen and you a mouse, Why do you pine for her and cry, Forget her forever, go back to your shell The fates have already decided: You are no match for her, Drown in your bottle of mead, Or go and try for another girl! © Dr. Taher Kagalwala Written for:
