you can lie on your back.
count the reasons why.
i doubt their are enough for each.

the one on the left was the first kiss
that made you
fall

fall.
too far down.

it's neighbor called twelve others.
to count the sweet words
that made you
fall
fall
fall
too far down.

the one up north.
yes, that one, it
handed over your heart
too dirty hands
that made you
fall
fall
fall
too far down.

it was that one on the other side
of the moon.
that canceled the others out.
estranged words and left out moments.
distance that was eight miles too long
and brown eyes that made you yearn.
a fateful call.
and passing conversation
that made you
fall
fall
fall
and hit the ground hard.
