In the Woods
This was written to explain why I like the woods.

She whispers into my ear with the wind;

She brushes my shoulders with supple branch.

Her breath is of the moist, warm, summer air,

Her heart beats fast with roaring thunder claps.

Rain falls on my cap brim as tears of joy,

And nourishes the grass beneath my feet.

The sharp wind, the warm rain, the thunder loud

Remind me of my Goddess and her God.

Like wind, earth, rain, blazing sun and moon,

She is always near me, day and night.

Where I look and listen and smell and touch,

Is proof of my ever-present Goddess.

Alone I’ll never be throughout my life,

And without comfort I’ll never long be.

Wherever I am, wherever I go,

She’ll be in wind, rain, earth, sun and spirit.
