A LIFE GONE

A LIFE GONE

Tender bud, you saw no bloom,
Crushed in secrecy and gloom;

Destined never to display,
The magic inside you lay;

I caused hurt and pain to you,
I repented for this, true.

Can I ever recover
From the guilt that I suffer?

Sin to you I committed,
Sixth commandment omitted.

I gave you not birth, but, death,
How shall I escape His wrath?

With shame I have lived it through.
Forgive me, I beseech you.
