I wrote this story of my best friend Angel and adorable, sweet friend
Johnny_mac and me in a fictional haunted house story. This is for The Flair of Writing Newsletter.

It was Oct. 31. Halloween Night. All Hallow's Eve. Megan and Angel were all dressed up as witches. They were two pretty young women in their twenties. Megan and her long red hair and Angel, a blonde bombshell. Our two witches were ready for some Halloween fun. They needed a night out. The two women were editors of the local newspaper in Maine where they lived.

Megan and Angel set out to explore Woodrow Mansion which was said to be haunted. They had heard the rumors but wanted to see for themselves. Megan and Angel walked nervously down the sidewalk to the mansion. The moon was big and blue with an eerie glow. Bats flew above the Gothic, four story Victorian Mansion. The mansion was brown, drab and had gargoyles and moss covered the sides of the mansion. Megan looked up and saw a flying horse! "Angel, did you see that flying horse?" She tugged on Angel's arm. Angel patted Megan's arm. "Sweetie, maybe you saw Seabiscuit!" "Angel, I'm serious! This is eerie!" Megan and Angel entered the mansion and the door squeaked. Just then a haunting voice called out:"Go back!" The women jumped. Just then a coffin door creaked and slowly opened, revealing a white face with blood stained lips on an orange, glowing face of a vampire. "I want to drink your blood!" Megan and Angel screamed. "Hello, my pets." The women glanced at the vampire. "Johnny-Mac!" they cried out together. Johnny Mac hugged them. "I'm so glad you fell for that, my pretties." He laughed. Megan and Angel swatted him. "What are you doing here? asked Angel. "Celebrating, Halloween, my pets. I love Halloween. Don't you, Dears?" "Yes, Johnny. This place is haunted." whispered Megan. "My pets, that's just a rumor. Be brave. If you girls will be alright, I'm off for my next Halloween prank. Johnny kissed the girl's cheeks and left. "Later." He chimed. "Men!" exclaimed Angel. "I adore him but he's a scoundrel at times." Megan nodded. "Angel, let's explore the next level." "Okay. We need a good story for the paper."

Megan and Angel slowly descended up the stairs and made their way down the hall. "Meow! Hiss!" Two cats jumped off the ledge and landed on Megan and Angel, knocking them down. "Maxi! You bad cat! What are you doing here?" yelled Angel."Go home!" "You two, Tigger! You surprise me. You never leave the house, you bad girl!" chimed Megan. The two cats belonged to Angel and Megan.Tigger rubbed against Megan's leg as she picked her up. Angel picked up Maxi. Just then a blue, glowing haze appeared above them. "Yikes!" screamed Angel. "That's not Casper!" Megan exclaimed. The cloud turned into a blue and green dragon. "I won't hurt you. Come with me." The women followed the dragon to the third floor to a bedroom lit by candles with a canopy bed made up in purple. Megan whispered. "Cool." Angel and Megan looked up and saw a pretty, blonde girl wearing a purple witch's dress, purple hat and boots to match. She had a blue nose! "What on earth?!" squeaked Megan. "I'm Pandora. I didn't mean to frighten you. I have a blue nose and my name's Pandora.I'm a real live witch and I'm three centuries old. I live here. I was born in England but I was kicked out by some high and mighty witches who didn't like my blue nose. I lived in forests, castles and deserted houses all over the world. I finally settled here in Cape Harbors, Maine. I don't have any human friends and I wanted to meet you. I read your paper all the time and I love what you write. My dragon friend Spartacus went to fetch you."
"Wow! Nice to meet you. I'm Angel and this is Megan. We wanted to see the haunted house everyone talks about. Pandora, you are a real witch?" "Yes. I'm harmless. I'm just lonely." said Pandora. Megan patted Pandora's hand. "We like you and would like to be your friend." Pandora's green eyes lit up. "I would like that." Just then a purple unicorn flew in. Megan and Angel grasped. "Ophelia. She's my pet Unicorn. I don't fly a broom. I fly on her. I know. Unicorns don't fly. Witches don't have a blue nose, either". They all laughed. Ophelia nudged Megan's hand with her nose and Megan threw her arms around her. Pandora looked at the two women. "Are you going to write about me in your paper?" "No, Sweetie. Who would believe us? Your secret is safe with us." Angel said. Megan said: "We could write about a vampire that lives in the cave by the ocean." Angel giggled. Pandora laughed then got serious. "That's a true story. Barnabas would love the publicity but he won't bite anyone. He's my good friend but he sleeps all day." Megan and Angel just smiled. "Hey, want to ride on the unicorn?" asked Pandora. The girls, Maxi and Tigger all got on Ophelia and flew over the moon. Johnny Mac was out on his ship pretending to be Captain Jack Sparrow drinking some rum and fighting other pirates.. He looked up and saw the unicorn and Pandora, Megan and Angel and cats flying around. "What the bloody H---?" Megan, Angel is that you?" They blew Johnny a kiss. "Boggers! exclaimed Johnny. "I'm going home to sleep it off. After I find the treasure!"
Angel and Megan had had an unusual Halloween. They promise to visit Pandora often and kept her secret. They didn't even tell Johnny. Life was just one big Halloween Party and then one day they met Barnabas. This could get bloody!
